Why Ladies Eat Dhaka

Why Ladies Eat Dhaka (Soil)

Ladies are eating soil and it's no surprise. Yes ladies, our dearly beloved ladies! But is that healthy? Are there any benefits derived from this? That's what this article Will cover so read on until the last line.

Here's how it all began. I've seen ladies eat Dhaka and never seemed to notice until a few nights ago. From nowhere my special friend told me she was craving for soil. I was stunned. Why on earth would she want soil, a non food item?

Anyway I did a little survey and most of all the girls I know eat Dhaka. Roughly, more than 70% of them. Now I was dumbstruck. I had a lot of questions in my mind. Is soil tasty? Is it harmful in anyway? Are there any benefits from eating it? My curiosity grew by the second so I did a little sleuthing in order to satisfy it. Here is what I found out.

Why Eat Dhaka?

Apparently Dhaka eating is not out of the ordinary. It not only affects Zimbabwean ladies but even those in the US find it pleasant. Actually the scientific term for this is geophagy.

Some people eat Dhaka because of lack of certain nutrients in the body such as zinc, magnesium and mainly iron.

Others eat Dhaka because they might have Pica - which is a weird appetite whereby one craves non food items like chalk, ashes paper, hair and so on.

Some ladies are convinced it is healthy, cures stomach diseases, helps during pregnancy or actually improve the skin tone.

Benefits of Geophagia

Well, this was the difficult part of the research. Mainly because I found opinions not facts.

It is said that eating soil helps absorb toxic elements within our system. However, further research is still required to prove this accurate.

Moreso, it is also said that eating soil helps ease morning sickness in pregnant mother's, but this hasn't been proven yet.

Some say it reduces stress. But then how can we tell?

As for the skin tone theory,I just wonder if Dhaka really makes the skin smoother.

The Downside

The cons of eating dhaka include exposure to bacteria, parasites and some heavy metals that may be within the soil. Doctors discourage so doing.

Constipation is also a side effect of Dhaka consumption although it is less common.

Another interesting thing is that soil eating might be a sign of lack of nutrients within the body but it is not a solution. Your body won't absorb the nutrients from the soil, speak to your Doctors and find out how you can supliment these missing nutrients.

What ladies say

I love Dhaka. It is tasty and I'll be very happy to find it. It must be clean because it might cause constipation.

Dhaka is tasty. I love it because it increases blood but it can close the womb. I drink lots of water when I eat it so that it digests faster.

It is yummy. Once you get addicted, you won't live without it. But like anything under the sun, there are disadvantages as well.

I've been eating soil for a long time now. Since primary school. I prefer the natural one from a termites(mujuru) not the white one. My head aches these days because of these cravings.

Conclusion

Ladies eat dhaka and there's no denying it. It might be an indication of missing nutrients. In that case visit the hospital so that proper tests can be done and you get the right supliments. Great care should be made to avoid soil with bacteria and fungi.
